Flyers raise ticket prices
By ED BARKOWITZ
Identify which of these aren’t true. The Flyers…
a) lost their last two games of 2006 by a combined 10-1;
b) are expected to be without Peter Forsberg until January;
c) raised ticket prices yesterday;
d) signed stud defensemen Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski and Dion Phaneuf.
The answer, unfortunately for Flyers fans, is d. But they did sign Marty Murray yesterday!
Less than 2 months after the Flyers were flattened by the Sabres, the club announced it was raising ticket prices by about 5 percent across the board.
“The way we’re looking at it is, it’s really an inflationary increase,” said Peter Luukko, the president/chief operating officer of Comcast-Spectacor, the Flyers’ parent company. “The cost of doing business is going up all across the operation, whether it’s sales, marketing, travel - costs have gone up very high due to the price of fuel oil.”

The Flyers raising ticket prices by one damn dime would be the equivalent of Al-Qaeda raising membership dues right about now …
I have an idea what to do with a gallon or two or 300 of that fuel oil …. Poof, all your Stanley Cup pipe dreams up in smoke.
Just for an extra kick in the ass folks, Luukko makes roughly $7.5 million a year salary and attends games for free … drinks and eats for free too.
Christ, next they’ll make Craig Berube head coach of the Phantoms …
