LA Times pulling road plug on NHL
From the league that refused to give press/media credentials to cover games to web sites that cover hockey, even large web sites with good traffic, seems the “traditional” media is snubbing the league.
The Los Angeles Times has decided it no longer will send its hockey writers to cover Kings and Ducks road games. Meanwhile, the the New York Times has again decided not to cover the Rangers on the road.
LA Times brass said hockey is a “niche sport.” Ouch.
I’m sure Bettman will spin it by saying something like “Yes, but small weekly papers in our most promising markets continue to cover the game even though we tell them to pound sand when they ask for credentials too.”
