Beyond that, a couple moves that would take guts need to be made.

Trade Esche
Trade Gagne (worthless, no heart)
Rathje hits waivers and then Phantoms or trade him.
Acquire players with a Blue Collar mentality, work ethic and willing to check the opponent and punish them. (Ah, guys like Brashear?)
Time for Clarke to go. Give Holmgren a shot.
Bring back Dimatrakis. He has speed so use it. Try him on D. What the hell …
