Now, Pronger has been suspended for trying to check a midget. Instead he caught his head. Six-foot-six vs 5-foot-10. Probably should have been suspended. Borderline either way, but easy if you’re the league and rooting for the Senators. Borderline calls in the cup finals? Let Pronger play. Don’t fuck with the cup finals with BS calls.

If you look Chris Neil’s hit last night on Andy McDonald, it was much worse than Pronger’s hit on Dean “What team am I playing for this year?” McAmmond.

Still, Colin “Couldn’t Hack it as an NHL coach” Campbell didn’t do anything to the Senators. Big Surprise.

The NHL’s continuous message is lousy here, as it has spilled down into youth hockey in the US. If you lay on the ice, you’re going to get a better penalty call. If you might be hurt and tough it out and make it to the bench without laying on the ice like a cheap rug, you’re not going to get a better call.

In the new NHL, Scott Stevens would have served a suspension for hits on Lindros or Kariya. Looks like Scott bowed out of the league at the right time. It’s an actors game now.

I was watching the game with my son, a fifth grader. He blurts out in the thrid period: “Why does the NHL want the Senators to win? It just seems that way.”

Wonder why TV ratings are down 30 percent in the US for the cup this year?
