The old cable access classic Wayne’s World might have been better produced than NHL games on OLN. Hate to admit it but damn, ESPN does a pretty good job when you consider things. Either that or OLN is so bad that it makes you think that ESPN was that good. Confused.

OLN last night. Red Wings vs Blue Jackets. Boring Game (seems to be the new trend, eh?). Third period. Chimera gets a 10 minute misconduct. Just as it was happening, OLN goes to commercial and never shows a replay or even talks about what happened. GESTAPO HOCKEY FEED: WE KNOW NUSSING!

Later, Shelley gets tangled up with Shanahan and other players form a scrum in the crease. OLN abruptly cuts to commercial. No replay. When I say abruptly I mean it. Check out the clip today in Bully called “OLN Just F’n Blows.” I have never seen a commercial come out of left field like that. No fade, no we’ll be right back. No segway.

I don’t know what basement this OLN is working out of but it appears it is on a mission to sterilize the NHL from all violence. And this from a channel that is basically a monument to killing defenseless critters. It’s the man vs man thing that they seem to have the problem with (that and their ratings) …

If the prey is defenseless, OLN is king of the kill. When the hunter and the hunted so to speak are evenly matched, OLN seems to become confused and default to one of it’s 23 or more 3rd period commercial spots. Can’t imagine OLN cutting to a commercial when Ted Nugent has his bow cocked on a grazing elk.
