Bully Labs
Bully has a formula/recipe used for maintaining the high quality of the hockey clips. It’s a process and it has not been duplicated by other hockey sites. ESPN comes close though but they have serious resources.
At Bully, if the footage is current or new, we enhance the quality from TV. If the clips are old, we clean them up, scrub them and improve the quality of the audio and video.
Bully spent over 100 hours over the holidays trying to take the video to near HD quality for its clips on the web. Thanks to some help from a friend or two at the CBC, I think starting with today’s clips you will see the results of tinkering with something that worked fine but Bully wanted to take to the next level.
The CBC has played with video quality and its idiosyncrasies for decades. I appreciate their help and as it turns out they learned a couple tricks from Bully that CBC will use to enhance their web content.
