Gagne is done … or should be

If the Flyers are smart, they’d sit Gagne for the rest of the regular season and see if he’s any better come playoff time. Guy has sat for 30+ games this season so what’s the big deal?

Otherwise, Gagne could be looking at the end of his career with three concussions in 4 months. It’s time to take extra precautions. He’s a bright guy. I hope he stays that way.

As far as Forsberg … the Flyers know that in order to sell playoff tickets — as inflated as the prices are — they need Forsberg. The current team can’t put consistent wins together and when you’re not consistent, you need star power. Flyers have no stars on their team. Maybe Richards is a young star.

And don’t try to sell Lil’ Danny as a star. He’s a quasar. While there was initially some controversy over the nature of these objects, there is now a scientific consensus that a quasar is a compact halo of matter surrounding the central supermassive black hole of a young galaxy.

In Philly, that supermassive black hole is Briere’s contract and that young galaxy is the team.
