Holmgren has done a solid job getting these players on the ice, except for paying through the nose for Lil’ Danny.

The next right thing to do is fire John Stevens and take over the bench. Lamoriello has done it in New Jersey multiple times and even when his team was in first place … He’s got balls and he’s been rewarded for making sound moves.

If you want to save your season, Stevens has to go. He’s in way over his head in the NHL.

It’s not a panic move. It’s the right move. Stevens is lost. He can’t stop the bleeding. He doesn’t know how and neither does Terry Murray and the assistant coach du jour.

Make a couple player moves before the deadline, fire Stevens and get behind the bench until you can find a proven coach.
