When I heard that the Pens scored Hossa today, you immediately have to shake your head and wonder what a nightmare they will be to play against …. IF THIS STIFF produces.

Then I saw what the Penguins gave up and realized that Ray Shero is likely insane.

Atlanta traded RW Marian Hossa and RW Pascal Dupuis to Pittsburgh for RW Colby Armstrong, C Erik Christensen, C Angelo Esposito and Pittsburgh’s 1st-round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft.

Esposito was the Pens 1st pick last year and a blue chip no doubt. Insanity to part with him and this year’s 1st pick. I would have kept Esposito.

Hossa is an UFA. You better hope he sign s with you, Shero or you’ll be the resident Bob Clarke of Pennsylvania. Regardless, you still paid too much for this stiff.

Ditching Esposito is a huge mistake.
