Handicapping the Already Handicapped Philadelphia Flyers
Here’s how HockeyBully.com is handicapping the Flyers season … what’s left of it.
Doubtful they will make the playoffs… They beat Atlanta tonight. Woo Fuckin’ Hoo. When is the parade?
I do not see many more wins from here on out (what else is new …) Regardless of how the individual games play out, I only see 6, maybe 8 points (big maybe) out of these clowns the rest of the season … probably will miss the playoffs by three points or so in the standings. They still could make it, but it is very unlikely. Out of a possible 48 points since February, the Flyers have grabbed just 20 points.
If they make the playoffs the only thing it will prove in the short term is how weak the basement portion of Eastern Conference really is. Will be very tough to play the top seeded teams in the east. Best spot is sitting 6th because you get to play the Hurricanes as things sit now. But 7th and 8th … you’ve got your hands full in round 1.
It will be interesting to watch the Vegas spreads to see how bad this Philly team is perceived in the next couple weeks.
Stevens was too foolish the last two weeks, pissing away points to the underbelly of the conference and now must face the cream of the east.
If this were church, the fat lady would be warming up in the corner. And it ain’t Kate Smith. She’s dead. (And note to Uncle Ed: She’s not coming back.)
