I have read all the rhetoric from NHL brass which largely dismisses the talent level in the Russian Super League when comparing it to that of the NHL.

I have been watching these games from Russia. In many cases the player seem much more skilled than what we watch in the NHL.

So I no longer buy the boilerplate response from NHL folks.

There are many educated folks involved in running the NHL. There is little chance that any single one of them buy that boilerplate response either.

A Russian/Euro hockey league will seriously challenge the NHL within the next two to three years.
