What really disappointed me was the overreaction on Thornton’s hit in the corner on Gill a little while back. Did they throw Thornton out of the game for that? Why? If Gill doesn’t go down - if Gill isn’t a 6 foot 7 inch tall pantywaist with no toughness - then they probably don’t even call a boarding penalty. All penalties like that do is encourage players to dive and make the penalty aspect of the game into a joke, just the way soccer is.

One other thing regarding comments on Bullycast3 …. Boogaard for Minnesota … did you know he has a brother, who, like Derek, also plays for the Tri-City Americans. Not nearly as big as Derek, but younger brother Aaron is also a Minnesota draft pick. And just for good measure Tri-City has a 6 foot 8 inch, 230 lb defenseman named Riley Emmerson who was ALSO drafted by the Wild.
