Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Good thing you fired Ken Hitchcock, Mr. Snider.
He obviously was the problem. LOL.
Time for you to go, Ed.

The Fridge … Iced

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

I just watched the ‘Boogie Man’ Boogaard drop Todd Fedoruk like a bad habit and from the looks of it, Todd may have fractured his face — or parts of it — that he had partially reconstructed while still a Flyer.
No blood but you get that feeling that he is going to have some issues […]

Halloween Comes Early: Clarke & the Fat Man Axed

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

With little respect for church-going folks, the Flyers snuck in a hastily-arranged press conference at 10 am today (Sunday) to announce “reorganization” of the club as they put it.
To me, reorganizing is something you do to your garage or desk or junk drawer. What the Flyers did Sunday is more like carpet bombing their front […]

Late Night Shake Up

Saturday, October 21st, 2006

Phone rang Saturday night as i was watching Hockey Night in Canada.
Bobby Clarke has been asked to step down and Ken Hitchcock will be fired Sunday or Monday.
It is time for Clarke to go, no doubt. Hitch has had 4 years to get a power play together and failed.
Ah, what about the players?

If They Had Balls …

Friday, October 20th, 2006

I’ve been saying for over a year to dump Robert Esche. Now, he is worthless. He is worth nothing in a trade. He is a cancer in the room now, bellyaching and whining. Adios. You’re a 500 goalie anyway. Call Chuck “Everybody Wang Chung” Wang in Long Island.
Beyond that, a couple moves that would take […]

Been bothering me for weeks

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

OK, so opening night at the Flyers game they showed a 5 minute video collage of the last 40 years. I have it uploaded on the Bully today.
The thing that kills me — and I mentioned it at the game too — is that there is only about 25 seconds of the video dedicated to […]

Flyers Need to Not be the Flyers

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

And that is the main problem, really. It’s one thing to get smoked 9-1 against Buffalo, but quite another when no one has the balls or brains to go down swinging.
Fuck Hitchcock and his non-combative Amish hockey philosophy. If you have anything worth a damn, you leave everything on the ice in a game like […]

Flyers will make play for Leetch

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

I expect the Flyers will try to get Rathje out on injury long term and then get his salary to not count against the cap. Even if he is healthy, he looked terrible in the opener vs Pittsburgh. Slow and slower.
I expect the Flyers will make a play for Brian Leetch in the next few […]

Damn, What’s a real team worth?

Friday, October 6th, 2006

One year ago, during the lockout, the Penguins were worth $75 million.
Now, a year after another dismal season, they sell for $175 million. Yeah, that makes total sense. No wonder Crosby is acting tough.
it makes you wonder what a real hockey team is worth.

Esche even worse in HD

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Watching Flyers opener in HD which makes the game more clear by far and also makes Esche look even worse. I thought he was downright bad on a normal CRT tube TV, but HD really shows you how lousy he is.
Also, Crosby is a great player but he is fairly stupid. He can score but […]
