Complete Domination

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

It’s the Stanley Cup finals. The Ottawa Senators are in the finals for the first time (don’t talk about alleged cups won in the 1800s. No one cares.)
The Senators are coming back to Ottawa in a 0-2 hole in the series.
And this is the lead sports story in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper:
Iceland native throws athletic […]

Mike Y, Maybe We’ll See Ya @ a Rink in the Sky

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Found out tonight that Bully subscriber Mike Yarbrough in California was killed while driving his Harley Davidson.
Just wanted to extend my condolences to his wife, two sons and family and friends. He was an avid Sharks fan and loved hockey as well. He was just 36.

Hope you’re in a better place, Mike.

Some things just don’t go together

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Peanut butter and salami.
Pizza and tuna fish.
Marty Brodeur and his sister-in-law. (actually I think they went together quite well.)
And Mike Comrie’s name on the Stanley Cup. If the Sens win — and I don’t think they have a prayer — it would be a testament to wimps everywhere and set the NHL back another 10 […]

Prediction: Ducks Take Game 1

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

I think the Ducks will punish the Senators and win game one but not by much. Either 3-2 final or 3-1 final. I am going with Getzlaf or Moen with the game winner.
I don’t see the Senators playing well against the Ducks even strength.
If the Ducks play their game and play nasty when they need […]

Stupid NHL Mofos Strike Yet Again

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Here it is the holiday weekend in the states and I am looking at the schedule to see when the Stanley Cup finals start and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Monday @ 8 pm? What numbskull is scheduling this stuff?
The last thing most people in the states are going to do after a three-day weekend is […]

It Never Gets Better … More TV Woes

Monday, May 21st, 2007

That clown or those clowns at the NHL who schedule games have struck again.
Take Saturday’s OT game, Sabres vs Senators … a playoff potential elimination game.
The NHL lost its national U.S. over-the-air TV audience when NBC dropped its coverage of the game to show the Preakness Stakes just before overtime.
The end of Ottawa’s victory was […]

NHL’s Love Fest With Sabres Crashed Hard

Monday, May 21st, 2007

I rambled in a blog a few weeks ago saying that the NHL was doing everything it could to help the Sabres advance.
Hard to believe the Sens won Game 5. Check out the penalty calls in the third period. Anyone with a third-grade education can see what the third period was all about …
Think the […]

These Senators fans deserve a harsh beating

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Jeez, you can say what you want about Philly, New York and Boston hockey fans. Some criticism is warranted, some is not.
But I have never seen a woman beat down my men at a hockey game. Yes, I have seen a Sens fan get a tub of popcorn spilled on her head in Philly — […]

If there is truth

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

If there is truth in the adage that a team mirrors the personality of its coach, then the Sabres have no prayer of winning the conference final, let alone a cup.
Every time I see Ruff he’s whining like a grade-school sissy. You can’t whine your way to a cup, even if the league brass have […]
