Forsberg to Sign New Contract With Flyers

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Bully has the inside word (Philly media runs about 3 weeks behind Bully). Forsberg will sign a new 2-year contract with the Flyers on or about Valentine’s Day.
Forsberg feels he has unfinished business here in Philly. Plus his girlfriend still has some sweet digs in Center City.

LaRaque Not Suspended for trying to paralyze Downie

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

That makes total sense. Already a show on TV about NHL brass: LOST.
If I were a Flyer, I’d dole out my own punishment to this Eddie-Grant looking weasle on Feb 10th. I mean why is everyone so afraid of this guy? He’s the NHL’s new Brashear. He never fights. And whose ass has he whooped […]

Bully Wrong? Yes, No & Maybe

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Well, Flyers are back atop the Atlantic … for now. Up on the Devils with a game in hand.
Maybe I was wrong and too harsh on coach John Stevens. The young players seem to dig this guy and if they are bought in so to speak, hell, that’s more than half the battle. Hopefully, the […]

Rangers, Orr Better Watch Out

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

If the NY Rangers think they are tough, they have another thing coming, especially Colton Orr. Jagr wants to get involved in scrums now? I guess you do that when your career as a sniper is through.
I liked Orr when he was coming up but as I watched the Rangers vs Hurricanes game last night, […]

Juniors: Luke Schenn

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I think it was a year or so before he was drafted I blogged that Dion Phaneuf was going to be a guy to watch, an All Star in the NHL. That was when he played in the WHL in juniors.
New prediction along the lines of Phaneuf: Luke Schenn, currently playing in juniors in the […]

Playoffs in January

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Surprise. Surprise. It’s come to this.
To compliment all the credit card bills coming in the mail this time of year from Christmas — the Flyers last week sent season ticket holders the bill for their playoff tickets.
Note to Flyers greedy brass: you’re not in the playoffs yet. So how in the hell can you charge […]

If a Tree Falls in Newark, NJ

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

The classic scientific debate: If a tree falls in the woods but no one is there to hear it, did it actually make a sound?
The debate may rage on for eternity.
When applying the foundation of this debate to pro hockey, I figure it applies to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ - the new home […]

No Jokinen Around, Winter Cote Needed

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Geez, it’s tough to play in Philly these days.
Hartnell drops the gloves twice last night against the Florida Panthers and gets booed after his second bout by the hometown faithfull. Grant it, he got manhandled for the most part first by Ollie Jokinen and then by Richard Zednik in the third period. Last thing those […]
